Investigators then observed the same vehicle commit a second traffic violation near State Highway 87 and Allie Payne Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the driver, identified as 32-year-old David Feathers of Orange. Feathers failed to comply with officers and fled the scene in his vehicle, leading officers on a short pursuit.
The pursuit ended in the 6200 block of Armitage Road, where Feathers exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued him and he was apprehended a short distance away without further incident. Prior to the traffic stop, investigators had obtained a search warrant for Feathers’ residence, which was executed during the incident.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located fentanyl pills, cocaine, and three firearms, one of which was reported stolen. David’s residence is within 1000 feet of a school.
David Feathers was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle (Felony 3), Evading Arrest on Foot (State Jail Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance 4 to 200 grams within 1000 feet from a school (Felony 1), and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Felony 3). The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. (file photo)
