Wednesday afternoon Orange firefighters were called to a house fire in the 1300 block of Beagle Road in the Little Cypress area.
When they arrived they found fire and heavy smoke coming from the one story home. The living room and kitchen received heavy damage before firefighters put the fire out.
There was no one home at the time. One of the people that live there called 911 after arriving to smoke coming out of the structure. Unfortunately a dog was overcome by the smoke and died.
The cause is still under investigation.
