An Orange man has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury in connection with a February incident that began on the Lamar University campus.
Terrion Letrel Dove-Brown, 21, was indicted this week on charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon and criminal trespass.
According to investigators, on Feb. 25 an officer with the Lamar University Police Department attempted to stop Dove-Brown, who was driving a white BMW, after a Flock camera alerted officers to the vehicle’s presence. Authorities said Dove-Brown had previously been cited for criminal trespass in October 2025 and had been barred from Lamar University property.
Police said when the officer attempted the traffic stop, Dove-Brown fled at a high rate of speed, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash at the intersection of College Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a Glock .40-caliber pistol equipped with a 22-round magazine.
Evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle is a third-degree felony under Texas law.
