Due to recent rainfall and improved weather conditions, Orange County Judge John Gothia has officially lifted the burn ban at 2pm Wednesday, Sept.2 previously in effect for Orange County. While outdoor burning is once again permitted, residents are reminded to exercise caution and follow all applicable safety guidelines when conducting outdoor burns.
Residents are reminded to:
Always attend any outdoor fire and remain with it until it is completely extinguished.
Avoid burning on windy days, as wind can quickly cause a fire to spread beyond the intended area.
Keep water, tools, or a hose nearby and readily available in case of an emergency.
Orange County officials will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and the potential for increased fire danger. Should conditions deteriorate and fire danger increase, burning restrictions may be reinstated. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and practice responsible fire safety at all times.
