Aundrion Raydon Perdue was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. Born in Beaumont, Texas, to Angelina Samuel and Nicholas Perdue, Aundrion lived his life with purpose, excellence, and a heart beyond his years.
A standout academic and athlete, Aundrion was accelerated in the classroom and proudly participated in the Early College High School program at West Orange–Stark High School in partnership with Lamar State College Orange. His dedication to learning earned him numerous honors and recognitions, including being named Mr. WOSMS in the 8th grade and WOSHS Student of the Month during the fall semester. His teachers often described him as respectful, focused, and driven — the kind of student whose potential seemed limitless.
On the court, Aundrion was exceptional. His skill, discipline, and 112% mentality earned him a Varsity Basketball Letterman distinction. He also participated in JV Cross Country and Basketball, demonstrating both athletic talent and a relentless work ethic. Teammates admired his leadership and quiet confidence, while coaches respected his commitment and coachability.
Beyond his achievements, Aundrion was known for his handsome smile, quick wit, joyful spirit, and genuine kindness. He was funny without trying, respectful without prompting, and carried himself with a maturity that inspired those around him. He loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
Aundrion leaves behind his loving mother, Angelina Samuel; father, Nicholas Perdue; brothers Aundre Samuel, Andrew Samuel, Austin Perdue, and Nicholas Perdue Jr.; and sister, Paislee Perdue. He also leaves behind his loving Godparents, Richard Netherly II and Alicia Lee, along with a community of family, friends, teachers, and teammates who will forever carry his memory. Though his time here was far too short, his impact was lasting.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donnie Samuel, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Michael Lynn Samuel; paternal great-grandfather, Reverend Sidney Harold Perdue; and paternal grandmother, Joan Marie Perdue.
Aundrion will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for who he was — a brilliant mind, a determined athlete, and a beautiful soul.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Salem United Methodist Church, 402 W. John Street, Orange, Texas 77630.
