
John Stark, 65, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2026. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John was a devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, and the many memories he created with those closest to him.
John enjoyed spending his time fishing and watching NASCAR. Whether he was out on the water or watching a race, those simple joys brought him happiness. Above all else, John treasured the time spent with his family. His love, laughter, and presence will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
John leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family that will continue through all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sisters, Charlotte Pinder McCary and husband Ricky of Jacksonville, Florida, and MaryAnn Stark Hansen and husband Glynn of Woodville, Texas; brother, William “Bill” Stark Jr. of Evadale, Texas; and former wife, Ella Vilo Stark of Orange, Texas.
He is also survived by his children, Sharie Nichols and husband Allen of Baker, Florida, Felicia Stark of Orange, Texas, Sherrie Busby of Orange, Texas, Carrie Laughlin of Orange, Texas, and Norman Stark of Orange, Texas.
He was a proud grandfather to Brooklyn Adcock, Dominck Holliday, Josh Nichols and fiancĂ© Madison Harms, Stephanie Nichols, Anthony Nichols, Shay Nichols, Steven Nichols, Alexis Stark, Bryce Busby, Daniel Blake III “Budders”, Jackson Blake, Wyatt Blake, Matthew Godeaux, Johnathon Laughlin, Adam Laughlin, and Caleb Laughlin “Boogie”, also blessed with one great granddaughter, Blakelyn Nichols; great grandson, Mason Stark; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Pinder Phillips; fathers, Roger Phillips and William Lester Stark, Sr; brothers, Michael Anthony Stark, Sr., Alvin Dean Stark, and Mark Stark; grandson, Jacob Laughlin, and granddaughter, Allison Nichols.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas.
