Monday around 12:30pm, South Newton County Emergency Services District #1 responded to a reported structure fire at 352 CR 4154 in Deweyville.
According to South Newton County ESD1 Asst. Chief Stuart Welch, firefighters found a single story, dwelling with smoke and flames coming from the roof and the back of the home. The homeowner told firefighters that they had just remodeled the home and were in the process of moving in.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the home appears to be a total loss. No one was inside the structure at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Mutual aid was provided from Orange County ESD 3 and 4. The Red Cross was called in to assist the family with their loss Welch stated.
