Interesting match ups this week starting with Orangefield (3-0) going to LCM (2-1). Both teams have defeated Woodville while the Bobcats are attempting to beat their third 4A team this season. The Bears are coming off their first loss and Coach Peevey said his Bears will be working on mental attitude as they prepare for the Bobcats.
BC (1-2) is trying to regroup after already losing a handful of starters to injury. They’ll be hosting Silsbee (2-1) for Homecoming. The Tigers were upset by Nederland last week and almost lost to Vidor in OT so they’re still trying to find a rhythm.
WOS (3-0) makes the long road trip to play Bay City (2-1). The Black Cats have beaten LaMarque and Furr and lost to 3AD1 #1 Columbus to open the season. Coach Hickman will be looking to keep the Mustangs focused on the Black Cats and not looking ahead to next weeks rematch with Carthage.
Vidor and Deweyville have unusual foes this week. The Pirates (1-2) will travel across the Sabine to play Iowa (1-1) and the Newton County Pirates (0-3) will face a 5A Austin Navarro team that have lost 11 straight.
