
On June 17, 2026, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, II, pled guilty to Felony Assault – Family Violence and was sentenced to six years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The defendant entered his plea immediately prior to trial for the offense in the 260th District Court.
On January 25, 2024, police from the City of Pinehurst and the City of West Orange responded to a domestic violence call and found the victim in her residence, distraught and injured. She reported that the defendant had tackled her, held her down with his knees, poured water down her nose and mouth, and covered her nose and mouth with his hands so she could not breathe.
The District Attorney’s Office stated, “This conviction is a result of the hard work of the Pinehurst and West Orange Police Departments and, most importantly, the bravery of the victim to appear in court to testify against her abuser. We are proud of her strength and willingness to stand up for herself and other victims of domestic violence. Special thanks to Officer Summage with the City of West Orange Police Department.”
