
City councils in Orange County will see little change following the May 4th Election. The deadline for filing was Feb. 16 and there will be only one seat that will be challenged.
Bridge City Mayor David Rutledge will be challenged by Carl Harbert. Councilwoman Patty Collins in Place 4 and Sherby Dixon in Place 6 will run unopposed. Mike Reed decided not to run for re-election in Place 2. Recently retired BCISD Administrator Gina Mannino applied for his seat.
In Orange, Larry Spears will serve another term as Mayor. Matt Chandler will take over David Bailey’s seat on council after Bailey decided not to run again.
No changes in Pinehurst and West Orange. Pinehurst Mayor Sarah McClendon and council members Cynthia Adams, Greg Willis and Joey Vance will return. In West Orange, council members Mike Shugart, Lanie Brown and Jay Odom will be back in their council seats.
In Vidor, Nicole McGowan returns to Ward 2, and Michael Thompson to Ward 3. Gary Herrera elected to not run again for Ward 5 and will be replaced by Mikayla Bourque.
The Orange County Port and Navigation Board will also see no change as Walter Mullins and John Montagne will return to their seats.
