
LCM held off a late charge by West Orange-Stark to take sole possession of second place in 22-4A with a 59-49 win over the Mustangs.
The Bears lead by as many as 18 in the second half before Jervondric Simmons’ offense and the WOS defense stepped up their game. They closed the lead to four before free throws put LCM ahead for good. LCM will face Diboll in the first round, Monday, 7:30 at Kountze HS. The third place Mustangs face Jasper on Tuesday at 7pm at Lumberton HS.
Cole Frost hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game high 24. Braden Bridges added 16. For WOS, Simmons had 20.

Orangefield beat Hamshire-Fannett 59-38 with Lathrop, Dischler and Catt in double figures. BC lost to Silsbee 92-69 so the Cardinals and Bobcats (both 3-7) will have a “play-in” game Friday at 7pm at LCM to decide who gets the fourth place spot, and a date with 21-4A Champs from Shepherd.
