
The following are reports made by the Orange Police Dept. over the weekend.
Police were called to the Family Dollar on 16th St because a man was in the back of the building laying underneath an A/C Unit. They believed he was stealing copper. Instead officers found him with a brillo pad and a glass pipe used to smoke illegal narcotics. 53 year old Preston Karl Bryant was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers were called to Cloud 9 on 16th St. Saturday night for a possible burglary in progress. When police arrived they found no one on scene but forced entry was made. The owner, Amaan Chakkiwala arrived and said merchandise had been stolen.
Saturday night Orange Police were made aware of a chase that started in Louisiana and was heading into Texas on I-10. Officers were chasing a 2019 Ford Edge at speeds near 140mph. OPD positioned vehicles and made a stop just before the 16th St. intersection. William Poluk was arrested and charged with evading and unlawfully carrying a weapon (9mm pistol).
A theft was reported in the 4700 block of Paris on Friday. The owner said that numerous power tools were taken.
A theft was reported at a convenience store at 333 Lutcher. The owner said someon stole a tan cooler.
