The Orangefield Bobcats opened the football season with a 30-24 victory over Hardin-Jefferson Friday night.
Gage Lucas led the Bobcats with 133 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. He also caught three passes for 103 yards and a score.
Quarterback Carson Gonzales passed for 116 yards and a touchdown while adding 90 rushing yards and another score. Kyran Morrow added a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown, while Gavin Gravett kicked a 31-yard field goal.
Defensively, Hayden Clark and Jacob Walters combined for 17 tackles and three tackles for loss. Gravett added 10 tackles.

The LCM Bears scored twice in the second half to open up a close game with Woodville and went on to win 21-6.
LCM lead 7-6 at half after an Aiden Phillips TD from 8 yds. In the second half QB Jakson Struwe scored from 33 yds. and Phillips followed with a 10 yd. scamper in the fourth and Isaiah Watzlavik was perfect on PAT’s. The Bear “D” held the Eagles to 147 total yds. of offense.
The Bears host Jasper for Homecoming on Friday.

Josh Luna ran for 100 yds. on 8 carries and scored twice as Bridge City won at Kirbyville 35-12.
Hudson Hoffman was 16-27 for 197 yd and a TD pass to Luke Nelson who lead receivers with 4 catches for 72 yds.
Keagan Trahan lead the defense with 14 tackles. BC will host Orangefield Friday.

Troy McElveen kicked a 39 yd FG in OT to give Vidor the lead but Silsbee responded with a TD to get the win 42-39.
It was a close game throughout as Silsbee had a 28-26 halftime lead. The Pirates first half scoring included a 64 yd. punt return for a score by Jett Brucia. He also had an interception on defense. Bryce Collins led the Pirates with 102 of Vidor’s 282 rushing yards.
The Pirates will welcome Hamshire-Fannett Friday.
