Chief Rod Carroll and the Vidor Police Dept. held an Awards Ceremony Thursday at City Hall for six employees for performing selfless actions.
Dispatch Supervisor Amber Wyatt, Sgt. Ethan Mansfield, and Sgt. Josh Lockett were recognized for life saving actions during a suicide attempt in April 2024.
Dispatcher Seth Cappen was recognized for his actions in June 2024 during a suicide attempt.
Officers Michael Stephenson and Ashton Moss were honored for their live saving actions suring a house fire in Sept. of 2024.
And just a week ago, Sgt. Mansfield saved a person from suicide because of his quick actions and was recognized for the second time during the presentation.
