
On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a robbery at Super Stop #4, located near the 2900 block of North Main Street in Vidor.
According to the store owner, a man and woman entered the store, where the man assaulted an employee before stealing a large amount of cash from the register. Both suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Deputies gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and were able to identify the two suspects. Working closely with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, investigators obtained arrest warrants for both individuals.
The investigation revealed that the suspects fled into Jefferson County. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with law enforcement partners in that area to help locate them.
On Thursday, October 23, 2025, deputies located the female suspect, 27-year-old Frances Hetzel, after she returned to Orange County. Hetzel was arrested on an active robbery warrant. During the arrest, deputies found evidence from the robbery and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. She was booked into the Orange County Jail and charged with Robbery and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1), both first-degree felonies.
Later that same day, the Beaumont Police Department Special Assignment Unit, assisted by Orange County deputies, located the male suspect, 25-year-old Danny Johnson Jr., in Beaumont. Johnson was taken into custody on the Orange County robbery warrant. Beaumont Police also connected Johnson to an armed robbery that occurred earlier that day at the Honey Stop in Beaumont. Johnson was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he will await extradition back to Orange County.
