(ORANGE, TX) – The Stark Museum of Art is proud to announce that its exhibition team has been awarded the TAMMIE Silver Award for In-Museum Experience by the Texas Association of Museums. The honor recognizes the museum’s Reindeer Trail Mobile Scavenger Hunt, an engaging and interactive digital experience that brought a festive twist to in-gallery exploration.
The Texas Association of Museums Media Innovation & Excellence Awards, commonly known as the TAMMIES, celebrates museums across the state that are using media and technology in innovative ways to enhance learning, storytelling and visitor engagement.
The Reindeer Trail Mobile Scavenger Hunt invited guests of all ages to discover clues and hidden reindeer throughout the museum’s galleries using their smartphones. The project was designed to encourage engagement with the museum’s collections while making visits fun, memorable and accessible to digital-native audiences.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Texas Association of Museums,” said Jennifer Dickinson, executive director of the Stark Museum of Art. “The Reindeer Trail Mobile Scavenger Hunt is a wonderful example of how creativity and technology can come together to make art more engaging for our visitors. This award is a testament to the innovation and hard work of our exhibition team, and we’re thrilled to share this success with our community. We are also building upon our success by offering a mobile scavenger hunt with our current exhibition, Childhood Classics.”
The TAMMIE Awards were presented during the Texas Association of Museums’ annual conference, which brings together museum professionals from across the state to share best practices and celebrate achievements in the field.
