The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired RHP Chase Shugart from the Red Sox in exchange for minor league RHP Matt McShane.
The 28 year old Bridge City native is coming off his best season where he made his big league debut and was also named the Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
“One door closes and another opens,” he told KOGT. “I’m excited for the opportunity with the Pirates. Doesn’t matter where you are, the main goal always stays the same which is winning. After all, we are playing a game!”
