Sherman ‘Pop’ Wayne White was born August 17, 1946, and passed away July 5, 2026, at the age of 79.
Sherman was a retired carpenter. He retired from VISD. He enjoyed early morning coffee on the porch swing with his dogs, while watching his chickens. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker, and dice. But most of all he loved cooking for his huge family. There was never a quiet moment in the room with Sherman around. It was a room full of love, laughter, and jokes.
He is survived by his children, Bruce White and wife Rebecca of Orange, Texas, Lisa White of Vidor, Texas, Michael Williamson of Vidor, Texas, and Sharon Williamson of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Chelsea Williamson, Elizabeth Williamson, Erika Miranda, Courtney Morgan (Dustin), Mickey Williamson, Cortney Campbell (Stephanie), Brandy Brimer (Kenny), Roger McCarty, Trey McCarty, Paige White, Kenny Rainwater (Rachel), Scott McCarty (Lexi), Bruce White (Jacklyn); great grandchildren, Alyssa, Easton, Corbin, Gunter, Wimberleigh, Abram, Aubrey, Justin, Aspyn, Arabella, Ainsley, Avery, Hunter, Nevaeh, Braxton, Jax, Gannon, Jaz, Aria, Tatum, Briceton, Landon, Cain, Damon, Colter, Rowan, Ensley, Sleighton, Kaden, Jayleigh, Braylee, Shaylee, Chloe, Callie, Brayn, and Dellilah; and sister, Annie Casey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Hazel White; siblings, Harvey, Clovis, Glenwood, Bub, Bruce, LaVerne, LaNell, Genevia, and LaTane.
Cremation was entrusted to Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
