A 36-year-old Orange County man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Edward Anthony Hoffman III, of Vidor, entered his guilty pleas in the 163rd District Court. Following a hearing on Aug. 24, 2026, the court sentenced Hoffman to 45 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division on each of the aggravated sexual assault charges and 25 years on each of the child pornography charges.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Because the victim was under the age of 6, Hoffman must serve the sentences for the aggravated sexual assault convictions day-for-day and is not eligible for parole, according to officials.
The case began June 6, 2025, when the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Division contacted the Orange Police Department regarding a possible aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Montgomery County investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Hoffman. The Orange Police Department assisted in taking Hoffman into custody at his place of employment, while the Vidor Police Department conducted a search of his residence.
During the investigation, authorities discovered video that allegedly showed Hoffman sexually assaulting a child in his home in Vidor. Investigators also determined that the video had been published through the messaging application Kik.
Hoffman was taken into custody and confessed to sexually assaulting a child, recording the assault and publishing the video, according to authorities.
Hoffman continues to face charges in Montgomery County related to the case.
Officials credited the work of the Vidor and Orange police departments with helping secure the convictions and sentences.
