
The Orange Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning at Sienna Shipyard.
At approximately 12:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, officers responded to Sienna Shipyard, located at 99 W. Front Ave., after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a security guard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to investigators, the victim told officers he confronted two men who were allegedly stealing copper wire from the shipyard. During the confrontation, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots, striking the security guard twice. The suspects then fled toward the river and escaped by boat.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Following the investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as Travis Marange, 39, of Sulphur, Louisiana. Marange has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Investigators say additional charges against other suspects are expected as the investigation continues.
The Orange Police Department thanked the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Coast Guard for their assistance in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing.
