The Celebration of Life for Mr. Rounald Warnell, 69, Orange, will be Saturday, August 8, 2026, during a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Therese Catholic Church under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Hollywood Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 until 10 am.
Rounald Ray “Shab” Warnell entered this world on May 21, 1957, to Mrs. Louise (Renaud) Warnell and Mr. Wesley Warnell, Jr.
Growing up Rounald was a great student who always kept a joke ready to make someone laugh. Since he was a child, Shab always had a desire to help people and he maintained that gentle, caring demeanor throughout his life.
On July 31, 2026, God called Shab to his heavenly home. Rounald attended Lutcher Stark High School where he graduated in 1976. He was a devout member of St. Therese Catholic Church where volunteering in the kitchen had become one of his favorite hobbies during retirement. Shab retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T in 2009 after 30 years as a Lineman. You could often find him barbecuing under the tree, burning trash in that barrel in the yard while having drinks with friends, driving Margaret (Disco as he’d affectionately call her) around the world, checking on his aunts/cousins, or hitting his two step at every family function. Rounald was truly a light in every room he entered. His greatest legacy is the quiet way he cared for others— always willing to lend a hand, offer a laugh, or simply show up when he was needed.
Thirty-eight years ago, Rounald took “Toni D” to become his lawfully wedded wife. Together they built a home filled with love for their 3 sons; Tremond, Enrique, and Antonio. The couple would go on to spend nearly 40 years as a unit fulfilling their vow to God, and one another, that only death could take them apart.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years; Toni Warnell, 3 sons; Tremond Warnell (Ashley), Enrique Warnell, and Antonio Warnell (Kennedy), 2 sisters; Linda Sue Ceasear and Wesley Ann Gardener, father-in-law; Henry Randolph (Jeanetta), 2 sisters-in-law; Dolly Hendry (Julius), Sandra Randolph (Danny), and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
The Class of 1976 will also forever cherish fond and loving memories as Rounald loved his classmates dearly and was often “ the life of the party.” Rounald was preceded in death by both his parents; Louise and Wesley Warnell, Jr., son; Wesley Warnell, III, one sister; Vivian Daughtery, and his beloved mother-in-law; Pauline Spikes.
