Team Extreme from Horizons All-Star competitive cheerleaders has won the NCA All-Star Sr.3 National Championship. The team competed this weekend in Dallas at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in a two day event. The event was the largest in the companies history with 23,363 athletes, 1,340 teams from 38 states and 7 countries. Winter Burn A Possibility
The recent warm spell in Southeast Texas is going to change Thursday. Predictions are for sub-freezing temperatures Thursday night into Friday. Horticulturist Joseph Johnson with the Shangri La Botanical Gardens says the biggest concern for plants will be winter burn. Johnson adds that a common occurrence here when there is a deep freeze in the 20s and then a warm up causing what they call winter burn which effects plants’ ability to transpire or sweat. Positions on the May 9 ballot for the Pinehurst municipal election were determined Wednesday. T. W. Permenter was the only candidate present and was allowed to draw for his position on the ballot. Permenter drew the number two. Incumbents Dan Barclay and then Dan Mohon were drawn by a neutral bystander with City Secretary Debbie Cormier officiating. Crawfish can be tasty but dead crawfish all over a restaurant will hurt the business's health inspection. County Health Inspector James Scales visited 12 food-related businesses during the latter part of February and the lowest score, 73, went to Kajun Seafood and Wing II on Park Avenue. Scales cited the dead crawfish and said the entire restaurant needs to be cleaned. Only two places received perfect scores, but overall the scores were high.
