Bridge City High School Counselor’s office hosted LSCO’s College Fair Monday, September 14th. Orangefield (1-1) volleyball whipped LCM (1-1) on the road in three straight, 25 to 18, 25 to 20, and 25 to 20. For the Lady Bobcats: Sabryn Crain 10 kills, Julianne McManus 10 kills, Ashlyn Turley 4 kills, 26 assists. WOS(1-1) traveled to Silsbee, a team that just won the YMBL Tournament, and defeated the Tigers in five sets. Aaliyah Teal scored 28 kills, 60 digs and 11 blocks. Bears Face Hawks
In week three of the season the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears lost to the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots. Coach Randy Crouch says despite the loss he is seeing progress in his young Bears. This week LC-M plays the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks, and Coach Crouch reminds that the Hawks have been a playoff caliber team the last two seasons. Crouch points out Hardin-Jefferson went several rounds deep in the playoffs both seasons and with their first win of the season last week the Hawks will really try to build on that. The Deweyville Pirates lost to state ranked Kirbyville last week, but Coach Lance Dale believes his Pirates have a better chance in this week’s game. Dale informs that the Woodville Eagles will come to town Friday. The 7th Grade Bobcat football team took on the Lumberton Raiders Tuesday night in Lumberton. Tyler Washington had another strong game at quarterback, while Clayton Westbrook and Aaron Miller played well on defense. Cade Griffin had a kick return for 15 yards in the first half to give the Bobcats good field position. Although the Bobcats played hard, they fell short, 22-0, to the Raiders. Stallions Stomp Silsbee
The Stallions hosted Silsbee Tuesday night and finished the night 3-0. The combined B team shutout the Tigers by a score of 22-0. Kaiden Berry and Armani Wallace lead the offense with Berry scoring 2 TD's and a 2-point conversion and Wallace adding another TD and conversion. Home Invasion Trial
A 33-year-old Beaumont man is on trial at the Orange County Courthouse for the state felony of engaging in organized criminal activity. Taurean J. Bass is accused of being the driver of a pickup truck during a military-style home invasion of a drug house on Ridgemont Drive in December. The trial is being held before Judge Dennis Powell in the 163rd State District Court. Police said four men in a pickup truck drove up to the house at 3733 Ridgemont Drive.
