Four juveniles were caught Saturday night with a stolen yard Santa in the back of the SUV belonging to one of their mothers. Orange Police Officer J.E. Roy linked the four to vandalism of Christmas decorations at three houses in the Dawnwood neighborhood off Highway 87. Also on Sunday morning, a resident in Oak Creek Village discovered damage to holiday yard decorations. The propeller off an inflatable helicopter with Santa was missing. One of two males breaking into trucks at the Orange Boat Ramp Sunday morning was caught after a police chase. Officer Logan Holland reported that another officer used a Taser stun to get the 16-year-old to comply with orders to put his hands behind his back. Officer Holland was called to the Boat Ramp off Simmons Drive at 7:13 Sunday morning after people saw two males break into a truck. A 67-year-old Vidor woman who left her car running while she was getting gas at Flying J off Interstate 10 reported her Nissan Juke was stolen Thursday evening. Orange police recovered the car a while later after discovering it never left the business's parking lot. Captain Cliff Hargrave said the woman apparently left the car in drive while she went inside the store. Jay Donald Blume Sr., 105, of Conroe, formerly of Orange passed on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Park Manor in Conroe. Jay was born on April 20, 1910 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Martha S. (Hensley) and Edward D. Blume. He lived in Orange for 60 plus years until being displaced following Hurricane Ike. He then moved to Conroe to reside independently and be near family at the Carriage Inn Senior Living Facility. Store Robbed at Gunpoint
Orange police are investigating an aggravated robbery last night at the Texas Food Store at 305 Burton Avenue at Second Street. Captain Jennifer Burns said officers were called about 11:30 p.m. to the store. The clerk told police he was outside when two men with a handgun came up to him. They led him inside and demanded the money in the cash register. After getting the cash, they ran off into the night. Police searched the area but could not find anyone.
