Gerald A. (Butch) Snyder, age 54, of Orange, Texas, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Friday 5, 2016. Born in Orange where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Little Cypress High School in 1982. He is the son of father, Gerald C. Snyder, and mother, Virginia (Jennie) Snyder of Orange. OF Band Students Compete

This contest is an individual event in which the students learn the students chose a solo or ensemble from the state prescribed list. There are three classifications of difficulty for these solos. Class 3 solos bring a bronze medal, class 2 bring a silver medal, and class 1 bring a gold medal. The students learn the solo with little help from the directors. The Orangefield Tennis Team is off to a great start this year. They participated in the Ron Westbrook Lamar Invitational Tournament on Friday. Girls Doubles’ Abby Green and Ashlyn Turley brought home the gold. After wins against Jasper and Bridge City, they defeated Woodville 8 to 4 in the championship game. Boys Doubles, Slade Granger and Dakota Harrison, as well as Ty Hawkins and Griffin Patterson also experienced some success at the tournament. WOS Discusses Licensing
The superintendent of the West Orange-Cove CISD Thursday night said the district is looking at ways to protect the image of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs by overseeing official images. Rickie Harris spoke at a community meeting to talk about possible licensing requirements for T-shirts and other items with the flying WO-S image and the district's seal of the mustang horse.
