Arrest Made In Armed Robbery
On November 20, 2016 Orange Police Department officers investigated the Aggravated Robbery of Crawdads, 4080 IH-10. During the robbery a black male used a handgun to threaten the store employee and steal money. Through Crime Stoppers and other tips the subject in the robbery was identified as 29 year old Junies Nathaniel “Nate” Tims. On November 23, 2016 Detective C. Foreman received an Aggravated Robbery arrest warrant for Tims who was located at 1521 37th St., in Orange. Tims was arrested without incident as he was sitting in a vehicle. The winning streak has been extended to seven straight for the Bridge City Cardinals. Head Coach Dwayne DuBois is impressed with the way his Cardinals have made comebacks to win the last few weeks. They rallied late to beat Center in the first week of the playoffs and trailed Bay City 19-14 late in the second quarter before scoring the last 25 points of the game. Mustangs Face Bellville
Last week West Orange-Stark faced an explosive Robinson Rockets team which the Mustangs defused for another solid victory. Coach Cornel Thompson was pleased with the performance, but was unhappy with some extracurricular activity on the football field. Some of the Rockets were trash talkers and a least one tried to take a punch at the Mustangs. The coach was concerned with his players showing a lack of discipline by retaliating. Commissioners Taking Applications
The Commissioners Court discussed Tuesday appointing a replacement for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 David Peck who is retiring in January. The first action as stipulated by Assistant County Attorney Doug Manning was for the Court to officially accepted Judge Peck’s resignation effective January 3, 2017, which it did. The Commissioners then agreed to accept resumes and letters of interest for the position of justice of the peace in County Judge Brint Carlton’s office through Monday, November 28.
