WO May Get To Cancel Election
Juveniles in West Orange will still have to be at home or at least inside a residence by midnight. The City Council in West Orange renewed the city’s juvenile curfew ordinance Monday. Weekdays the curfew starts at 11:00 PM and weekends the curfew begins at midnight and every day the curfew ends at 6:00 AM. Police Chief Mike Stelly reported that there were ten violations by seven individuals of the curfew ordinance since it was last renewed. Orange police arrested a Colorado man during a break-in Sunday afternoon at the Jeep/Dodge dealership on Interstate 10. An alarm and surveillance live video helped. In another weekend case, a home surveillance camera on Hillbrook Drive is helping police track down two people who stole a delivered package from a house. Bridge City had a great season in Coach Kayla Gallardo’s first season in charge of the program. The Lady Cardinals went undefeated in district and won 29 of 33 games last year. Graduation has taken away some key Lady Cardinals, but Gallardo still has some quality talent to build a winner around. Bears Want Postseason Return
Last season the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears were in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Lady Bears came up just a little bit short losing a play-in game to the Orangefield Lady Bobcats. Five freshmen started on that young Lady Bears team, so Coach Dena Adkins has plenty of experience returning for this year. Senior Jenna James should spend a lot of time in the circle for LC-M.
