The Commissioners Court received an update on repairs and improvements to the duct work at the Administration Building of the Courthouse Tuesday from Way Services. The news was not necessarily good from Way, but it was not all bad news either. After Dallas ran out of pitches, Ryan Ragsdale came in and struck out the final two batters for the save. Dallas, and brother Chad both had RBI doubles in the first inning. A 37-year-old Orange, Texas man has been sentenced to prison for federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Tuesday. Kenneth Martin, Jr., was found guilty by a jury on July 13, 2016 of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 115 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark. Alligator Rescued In Pinehurst
Pinehurst City Administrator Robbie Hood found a trespasser Tuesday afternoon at the city's water and sewer plant. An alligator was in the retention pond at the plant, which is along Adams Bayou. Police Chief Fred Hanauer said the gator had lost his fear of humans and did not flee. Pinehurst officials called the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, which referred them to Gary Saurage with Gator Country. The Gator Country crew caught the alligator, which appeared to be about six feet long, and took it to an approved facility. Another WO Store Escapes Closure
Another West Orange business is escaping a mass closing. Rue21, a chain of clothing stores with teen-style fashions for girls and boys, announced it will be closing 400 stores, but the West Orange store is not on the list. Rue21 has a store at 3109 Edgar Brown Drive in the West Orange Plaza. The company's website has not listed the local store among the ones it will close.
