In Loving Memory Of Malinda Gale Sharkey
With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved mother, Malinda Gale Dickinson Sharkey. She left this world peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by love. She leaves a void and emptiness in our lives that will never be filled.
She was born December 3, 1949 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She had many stories of growing up, spending treasured time with her grandmother. Malinda married her beloved David “Scott” Sharkey on Friday the 13th in December 1968 and they built an amazing life together for more than fifty seven years. She passed away just two weeks after he did, unable to spend any more time apart.
She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a cherished friend whose kindness left a lasting mark on those she met. She was always our biggest supporter and cheerleader, not just as we were children but also as adults.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Chris Sharkey, Kim Sharkey, Shawn (and Heath) Aune, and Venus (and Mark) Police and by her nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In remembering our mother, we honor her devotion to family and zest for life. We will remember her easy laugh and kindness. ‘Til we meet again…..
