Kenneth “Kenny” Clyde McEvers Jr., 63, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born in Wilburton, Oklahoma, Kenny spent many years in New Caney before making Vidor his home for the past 10 years.
Kenny worked as a paint and body technician and QA Inspector most of his life, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the friendships he made throughout his career. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting and could always be counted on to tell a bad joke or pull a harmless prank to make those around him laugh. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, browsing estate sales in search of hidden treasures, and never passed up the chance to watch a good tearjerker movie. Above all, Kenny cherished every moment spent with his family, who were the center of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Kimberly McEvers of Vidor; his children, Nathan McEvers and wife Stormy of Vidor, Cammie Davis of Vidor, Stephanie Williamson of Vidor, and Whitney Williamson and fiancé Hunter of Vidor; his mother, Dorothy Hummingbird of Durant, Oklahoma; his siblings, Susan Griffin of Durant, Oklahoma, David McEvers of Milburn, Oklahoma, Bo McEvers of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and Jewellene McNeal of Durant, Oklahoma; and nine beloved grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Ed Hummingbird, and his sister, Vickie McEvers.
Kenny will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, generous heart, love of the outdoors, and the joy he found in spending time with those he loved most. His memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He never met a stranger. His kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help others made everyone feel welcomed
Kenny was a devoted husband, a man of faith and love. One of the greatest gifts he shared with his wife was his love for the Bible, often teaching and encouraging her through Scripture.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the incredible nurses and staff of the Baptist Hospital ICU, who were truly God-sent during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Your compassion, kindness, patience, and unwavering support brought comfort not only to Kenny but to our entire family. We will never forget the love and care shown by Kristi, Shaylee, Matt, Amy, Katy, John and Patrick with Abbott. You each made an immeasurable difference in our hearts.
A very special thank you to Dr. Chinualumogu Nwakile, whose extraordinary compassion and dedication went far beyond the practice of medicine. The care, respect, and genuine concern you showed Kenny and our family will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful for everything you did.
