Saturday – Orange County Judge John Gothia has issued a Declaration of Disaster for Orange County out of an abundance of caution due to forecasted inclement winter weather expected to impact the area.
The declaration is intended to ensure the county is prepared to respond quickly and effectively should hazardous conditions develop, including freezing temperatures, icy roadways, or other winter-related impacts.
County officials urge residents to closely monitor local weather stations and trusted weather sources for
updates. Citizens are also strongly encouraged to limit travel and remain off roadways as much as possible during periods of dangerous weather conditions to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure the safety of emergency responders. Orange County emergency management officials will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions warrant. For additional information and updates, residents should follow official Orange County communications and local media outlets.

The Warming Shelter located at the Salvation Army at 1950 MLK in Orange will open Saturday at 8pm and close Tuesday at 10am. There are 75 beds available.
