Joseph Pollard was born on July 11, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, and peacefully departed this life on June 8, 2026, at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Webster, Texas, at the age of 69.
Joseph was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, compassion, and protective nature touched the lives of many. He genuinely cared for others and was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or simply be present for those in need. His quiet strength, caring spirit, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
As a youth, Joseph attended St. Therese Catholic Church, where he received his First Communion and Confirmation and faithfully served as an Altar Boy.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army with Company C, 34th Engineer Battalion, 5th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.
Following his military service, he dedicated many years to the construction and industrial services industries, where he continued working in these fields until his retirement.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid and loyal supporter of the West Orange-Stark Mighty Mustangs and rarely missed an opportunity to follow their success. A passionate sports fan, Joseph closely followed football, basketball, and other sporting events and always enjoyed discussing the latest games, teams, and players with those around him. He especially enjoyed gathering with friends, playing dominoes, sharing stories, and spending time at Blue Bird Fish Camp, a place where he enjoyed fellowship, friendship, and many cherished memories.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Ora M. Riggs Smith; his sisters, Andrea Thompson (Franklin) and Angela Wilson (Robert); his brother, Kevin “Pup” Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply and carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers, John Pollard and Darryl Pollard, and his stepfather, Benjamin Smith.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories that will continue to bring us peace and joy. Joseph’s legacy of kindness, loyalty, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
