
Janie Andrews, 86, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Orangefield United Pentecostal Church in Orangefield, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Wyatt Weir. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas.
Visitation time will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Orangefield United Pentecostal Church in Orangefield, Texas.
Born on March 17, 1940, in Aspermont, Texas, she was the daughter of Dee Russell Cochran and Tommie Frances Ellison Cochran. Janie was a vibrant soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared her warmth with all who knew her. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her family and during her cherished weekly card games with friends; a tradition filled with laughter and camaraderie. Her hands were often busy with crochet, creating beautiful pieces with care. Janie was an active and devoted member of Orangefield United Pentecostal Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Known for her playful spirit, she delighted in pranks and practical jokes, always bringing a smile to those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Donna Smith, Melissa Smith, Judy Lewis and husband, Henry, and Trish Densmore and husband, Ray. Janie’s legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Glenda Cochran.
Janie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Andrews; her parents, Dee and Frances Cochran; her son-in-law, John Smith; her granddaughter, Casey Lewis; and her siblings, Jean Wright, Tommy Cochran, and Linda Spray.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chase Smith, Micah Smith, Henry Lewis, Jr., Henry Lewis III, Wesley Lewis, and Jacob Densmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Rylan Lewis, Ray Densmore, Arthur Riley, Jason Shiew, and Stacey Shiew.
