Orange County volleyball teams played well Tuesday. Orangefield, Vidor and Bridge City opened the season with victories. LCM improves to 2-0.
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Lumberton tonight to start their pre season off. The Varsity and JV teams are traveling home with wins!
The Freshman lost a close 3 set match 25-21, 20-25, 18-25. Addison Mouton and Madison McCormack each has 7 digs, Madison also had 6 assists. Brynn Borel had 2 kills and a block. Gina Ragusa had 3 aces.
The JV won 19-25, 25-13, and 25-18. Paisley Reeves had 2 blocks and 4 kills. Mikayla Locke had 5 kills and 7 digs, and 4 aces. Ava Walker had 8 digs and 4 aces. Jaydin Agerton had 8 digs, 12 assists and 3 aces. Brennah Lee had a team high 3 blocks!
The Varsity won in 3 sets 27-25, 28-26, 26-24. Brianna Moore had 14 assists and 9 digs. Addisyn Moore had 11 assists. Haylee Spears had 5 kills, a block, and an ace. Hannah block had 3 aces and 4 kills. Greenlea Oldham and Lela Francis each had 6 kills, Lela also had 2 aces and 7 digs.
The Lady Bobcats will have their home opener Friday against Hamshire Fannett with the varsity starting at 4:30.

The Vidor Lady Pirates and their new coach Hannah Jones opened the season with a win against Hamshire-Fannett. Vidor battled back after losing the first set to win 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

The BC Lady Cards made quick work of Liberty 25-12, 25-7, 25-13. Demi Carter with 8 kills, 8 aces, 7 digs and 2 blocks; Makenna Knight with 5 kills and 3 aces; Cambree LaComb with 16 assists and Kaylee Britten with 6 aces and 2 PK’s.

Deweyville beat Lighthouse 25-18, 25-19, 29-27.

LCM traveled to Hardin. The freshman team lost in three, the JV won in two, and the varsity team came away with a thrilling five set victory against a very solid Hardin team. Coach Snipes said, “I thought the girls showed a great competitive spirit, played extremely hard, the defense was everywhere, and refused to lose. We were down 18-8 in the first set before falling 17-25 so we started to get a little traction and momentum after that first set. We won the second set 25-13. We lost the third set 19-25. We were up 21-16 in the fourth set before Hardin came back to tie the game at 21. The girls showed a lot of heart to respond and win 25-23. The fifth set was back and forth all the way to the end as we came out 15-13.”

Monday night LCM opened the season with a win against Liberty.
