Travis Dupuy turned himself in to authorities after being indicted on two counts of arson by an Orange County Grand Jury.
Dupuy, 32, is the former volunteer firefighter for both West Orange and Pinehurst who was caught setting a grass fire in October by West Orange Assistant Police Chief Jessie Romero. This was also near another fire that was intentionally set involving bails of hay.
A number of suspicious fires had been set in the area, mostly to uninhabited homes and businesses. Dupuy was indicted for a home on Broad Street that had been set on fire on two different occasions. His bonds totaled $150,000 and his case has been assigned to the 163rd District Court.
If convicted of the second degree felonies, he’s looking at anywhere between two and 20 years in prison.
