
Dewey “Tommy” Thomas Woods, 86, of Orange, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at his residence. A native of Vidor and longtime resident of Orange, Texas, he was a man who valued hard work, faith, and family above all else.
Tommy was a proud member of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Vidor. He spent many years working as a welder with Local Union #798, a trade he took great pride in and one that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.
In his free time, Tommy enjoyed deer hunting and spending time outdoors, but his greatest joy came from being around his grandchildren. He treasured those moments and the memories they created together.
He is survived by his children, Dewey Woods Jr. and wife Franny of Mauriceville, Texas, and Missy Lowe and husband Jimbo of Orange, Texas; his brother, Edgar Wayne Woods Jr. of Vidor, Texas; and his grandchildren, Brant Lowe, Bryer Lowe and wife Courtney, Heather Broussard, and Kami Woods. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Charlotte Lowe, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Tommy was preceded in death by his wives, Charlene Woods and Patricia Yellott, and his grandson, Brandon Lowe.
He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he has touched.
