
On Friday, April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:29 p.m., officers with the Vidor Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of Highway 12 in reference to a major motor vehicle collision involving injuries.
Upon arrival, Officers, along with Fire and EMS personnel, determined that three vehicles were involved in the collision. A juvenile passenger in one of the vehicles sustained critical injuries. The Vidor Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team and Criminal Investigations Division were notified and responded to assist with the investigation. All individuals involved were transported to local medical facilities for treatment.
Officers were later notified that the juvenile succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
During the course of the investigation a white male was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. Detectives, in coordination with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, obtained an arrest warrant for Intoxication Manslaughter for Joseph Green, 56.
The warrant was executed and Green was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported and booked into the Orange County Jail.
