Chester “Chet” David Williams, age 90, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, January 4th, 2025.
Born in Walnut Springs, Texas, Chet later became a longtime resident of Orange before settling in Mauriceville. A man of strong faith, he was a dedicated member of Old First Baptist Church in Orange, where he formed lifelong friendships and found solace in his spiritual community.
Chet began his career at Good Year Tire and Rubber in Beaumont and later retired from Betz Laboratories, where his expertise and work ethic left a lasting impression. Beyond his professional life, Chet had a deep love for raising horses, a passion that brought him great joy and countless cherished memories.
Chet is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Carolyn Williams of Mauriceville, TX; his children Rhonda Hoffman and husband Eric of Houston, TX, Kyle Williams and wife Karen of Montgomery, TX, and Devra Helffrich and husband Dave of Dallas, TX; and his brother Ronnie Williams and wife Janice of Flower Mound, TX. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
In honor of Chet’s generous and caring spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Southeast Texas Hospice.
Chet’s legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
