The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a fatal crash that occurred on Farm-to-Market Road 1006, near Farm-to-Market Road 2177, that occurred Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:48 p.m., a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north. It is reported that when the rider crossed over the railroad tracks, he lost control, laid it on its side and struck a pole.
The rider, identified as 42-year-old Ryan Walter of Nederland, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
