Local businessman and historian J.B. Arrington passed away on February 3 at the age of 100.
Arrington is known to most as the former owner of JB’s BBQ on US 90 near Interstate 10. He ran the business for about 50 years before closing it in 2023.
Arrington was a man of many passions. He served in the Navy during World War II, went to college at the University of Houston and was an agriculture teacher for many years before opening his restaurant. He also owned “The Capistrano” on Green Ave. from 1978-87,
He married his wife Mary in 1948 and they had four children. Services will be posted on KOGT when received.
