Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Chase Shugart made MLB history on April 30, 2026, by earning two wins in a single day during a split doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants. He is the first MLB pitcher to accomplish this feat since 2013, securing both victories in relief during a pair of walk-off wins at Citizens Bank Park.
In Game 1, Shugart recorded one out in the top of the 9th inning, setting up a Phillies walk-off. And in Gm.2 after a 24-minute rain delay, Shugart was called on in the 10th inning, delivering a scoreless frame to earn his second victory.
He is the first Phillies pitcher to earn two wins in one day since Terry Adams in 2002. He is the first Major League pitcher to do this since Brian Duensing for the Minnesota Twins on August 9, 2013.
