Phillip Michael Leonard was born December 4, 1942, and passed away February 3, 2026, at the age of 83.
He was a hardworking craftsman, a devoted traveler, and a man whose tough exterior was matched by a genuinely good heart.
For many years, Phillip worked in the television and film industry as a set builder, lending his skill and dedication to well-known productions including Walker, Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris, Dallas, Prison Break, and Die Hard. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took great pride in being part of projects that entertained millions. Those who worked alongside him knew they could always count on him to get the job done, and get it done right.
When he wasn’t working, Phillip loved to travel, especially to the beach. The sound of the waves and the open horizon brought him peace and joy, and some of his happiest moments were spent near the water. He was known for being ornery and stubborn at times, never afraid to speak his mind, but beneath that rough edge was a kind and generous soul who would do anything for the people he cared about.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Leonard; son, Phillip Leonard II; and nephew, Shon Leonard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Larry Leonard.
Cremation was entrusted to Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
