Jerry J. Arceneaux, devoted husband, father, and grandfather left his earthly home for his spiritual home on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
He was born at home on August 14, 1940, in Orange, Texas. He resided in Orange almost his entire life. He worked 42 years as a longshoreman and crane operator in Port Arthur and Orange. He was a faithful member of Dowlen Road church of Christ in Beaumont, TX.
Jerry was a hard-working man who showed generosity to anyone in need. He valued family and loved to support his grandkids. He was stern on the outside, but those who were close to him knew his playful character. He enjoyed crosswords, tv, sports, and caring for his lawn. Jerry gained wisdom from his walk with the Lord and was not afraid to share it with anyone in need of the gospel. His legacy will live through the many lives he impacted.
He is preceded in death by his father Odee Arceneaux and mother Mima Hebert Arceneaux, grandson Brandon “Scott” Covington, and great granddaughter Emmalyn Jade Arceneaux.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethel Arceneaux; children Karen Lee, Michael Arceneaux; Carol Arceneaux; Rachael Mills; Mary Wagoner and Shayne Arceneaux; brothers Vic Arceneaux, Gary Arceneaux, and OD Arceneaux; grandchildren Casie Silva, Kaylla Fitzgerald, Samantha Lee; Serena Morello, Sarah Gaudet; Aaron Arceneaux, Coby Covington, Eric Covington, RJ Mills; Brooklyn Wagoner, Ayden Wagoner; and Jaxon Arceneaux; great grandchildren Alex, Ava, Dawsyn, Maddilyn, Wesley, Hayden, Lexi, Allie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Dorman Funeral home on October 14, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Dorman funeral home on October 15, 2024 with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00pm; service to follow at 2:00pm.
