Big wins by Vidor and Huffman last week have already thrown District 9-4A D1 into complete disarray just two games in. Parity or whatever you want to call it, it’s a pretty good bet that the old tiebreaker system will be in play to decide playoff teams. Liberty has the week off.
The WOS Mustangs had an epic win over Hamshire-Fannett in the final regular season game last year with a last second field goal to win the district title. This season they open defense of their title against the Longhorns, this time in HF. Both teams have had two weeks to prepare so it ought to be as good as the build-up.
It’s not a secret that Orangefield and East Chambers are the two best teams in District 10-3A D1 so it’s a good bet those two are playing for the title Friday night in Winnie.
