Walter Roy Johnson was born Nov. 25th. 1949 in Dallas, Tx. and passed away Jan. 31st. 2019 in Dallas, Tx. Roy grew up in both Dallas/Orange areas where he was involved in just about everything from cutting meat as a butcher at Popeyes and JBs to selling cars. He later moved to Dallas where he was involved in the Bar B Q business for over 35yrs. He still enjoyed his casino trips and some “occasional” bets from time to time. Roy loved to live life, he was a fun guy that loved everyone and everyone loved him back. Roy never met a stranger and never judged anyone, although he could hold a grudge if he knew you disrespected anyone especially his family. Roy loved to fish on the family land with his Dad in Farmersville when he had the chance, he loved last minute road trips alone or with Cathy to just about anywhere the car took them. He was always down for a game of pool and he definitely had more wins than losses. Roy will be loved and missed by many, but will be remembered by everyone that knew him or knew of him. Roy is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Johnson and Rosalie Durio. Roy is survived by his longtime girlfriend Cathy Clark of Mesquite and daughter Lauren O’Neill. His sister Sandy Babin of Conroe, brother Michael Johnson and wife Wanda Johnson of Orange, step brother Marvin Smith and wife Jackie of Van Alstyne, Tx. We will be having a celebration of life for Roy that everyone is invited to so that we can share great memories of him with everyone.
