
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash on state Highway 73, on the Veteran Memorial Bridge near Bridge City, that occurred Thursday, February 26, 2026.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 5:45 a.m., a dually pickup, a Honda Accord, a Chevrolet Silverado, a Toyota Camry, a Jeep Cherokee, a Jeep Wrangler, a Kawasaki motorcycle, a Dodge Ram, and a Ford F-250 were traveling east. It is reported that the dually pickup, possibly gray in color, was traveling east in the outside lane, failed to drive in a single lane and struck the Honda Accord that was traveling in the inside lane. It is reported that after impact, the Honda struck the inside barrier which caused a chain reaction and the dually fled the scene.
Injuries sustained during the crash include the driver of the Honda Accord, identified as a 29-year-old female and the rider of the Kawasaki, identified as a 27-year-old male, were both transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
