Vernon Powell died December 2, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX. He was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana on September 27, 1930 to Tim & Amanda (Cheney) Powell.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Burna Dean (Manuel) Powell and a son, Richard (Rick) Powell. He is survived by a son, Michael and wife Josie of Fort Worth, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
He was a long standing Deacon at 12th Street Baptist Church. He was employed by the City of Orange for 30 years and Claybar Funeral Home for 20 years.
Visitation will be at White Oak Funeral Home in Oakdale, LA on Sunday, December 11 from 12pm – 2pm. Following visitation, graveside services and burial will be at Blackjack cemetery in Pitkin, LA.
