BRIDGE CITY, TX – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is launching the SH 73 (Texas Ave.) Corridor Study to evaluate current and future transportation needs and potential improvements along SH 73 between from 1.3 miles west of FM 1442 to 0.25 miles east of Hwy. 62.
The study will assess existing roadway conditions, traffic operations, safety concerns, and anticipated growth throughout the corridor. Recommendations developed through the study may help guide future transportation improvements and investment decisions.
Community participation will play an important role in the study process. Residents, businesses, commuters, and other corridor users are encouraged to share their experiences and priorities to help identify transportation needs and opportunities.
TxDOT is hosting an in-person open house on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bridge City Community Center, 105 Parkside Drive, Bridge City, Texas 77611 with an additional virtual option to introduce potential opportunity areas for the future SH 73 corridor and gather feedback from residents and commuters. The in-person open house will contain the same study information and exhibits as the virtual option.
