The Celebration of Life for Mr. Timohy L. Jones, 65, of Orange, will be Tuesday, December30, 2025, at 11am at the Mount Olive Baptist Church. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Hollywood Community Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11am.
Timothy Lynn Jones was born Sunday, October 9, 1960, in Orange, Texas.
Raised and educated here, he was a member of the 1979 graduating class of West Orange-Stark High School. An all-around Mustang athlete, he ran track and played basketball, baseball, and football.
Branching out as a young man, he moved to New York and enjoyed big city life for a few years.
Returning home, he sang in the Male Chorus at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. In later years he worshiped at the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Working years were spent with the City of Orange, retiring after 20 years of service.
After retirement he spent his free time crabbing and fishing.
“Cooter,” as many knew him, was an all around happy and loving person. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. To know him was to love him. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed life to the fullest and never let the rainy days outweigh the days of sunshine. A true believer, Tim was a man of faith!
He passed Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
Forever cherishing his memory are his mother, Geraldine Moore of Orange, daughters Desi Jones of Central Islip, NY, and Swain Moore and Jaleecia Jones, both of Orange, and 5 grandchildren.
