The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1442, near the intersection of Turner Road, that occurred Friday, December 26, 2025.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 4:04 p.m., a box van was traveling south in the center turn lane, while an Orange County patrol unit was also traveling south in the lane of travel. It is reported that the driver of the box van made a right turn from the center turn lane in front of the patrol unit and was struck.
The driver of the box van, identified as 24-year-old Christopher Bell of Beaumont was not injured.
The deputy was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
